Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, a longtime advocate for U.S. support for Ukraine, praised the president and vice president Friday following the tense meeting with Zelensky.
Describing Vance’s performance as “awesome,” Graham said, “Americans witnessing this would not want Zelensky to be their business partner, including me. I've never been more proud of Trump for showing the American people and the world, you don't trifle with this man.”

Graham, who once praised Zelensky as “fighting for not only Ukraine’s freedom, but for the idea of freedom itself,” has been a consistent supporter of the U.S. aid to Ukraine since the war began in 2014. In July 2023, Graham urged NATO to admit Ukraine as a member state, a move that Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned could lead to a full-scale war.
