'Christian nationalism' or a 'needed' correction?: World reacts to Trump's 'anti-Christian bias' task force

CatholicVote's Catholic Accountability Project Director Tommy Valentine referred to Trump's executive order as "truly welcome news," citing the various attacks carried out against churches within the last few years.
"Let nobody be confused as to whether Joe Biden or Donald Trump was a greater friend to Christians while in the White House," Valentine said in a statement provided to The Christian Post.
The nonprofit has accused the Biden-Harris administration of "disproportionate use" of the FACE Act, which makes it a crime to use force, threat of force or physical obstruction to prevent someone from "obtaining or providing reproductive services."
The FACE Act does not only safeguard abortion facilities, but it is also supposed to protect churches and pro-life pregnancy centers.
"Our second Catholic president facilitated the persecution and prosecution of Christians who disagreed with his anti-Christian agenda, while the current president stands strong for the safety and religious freedom of Christians everywhere. We thank the Trump administration for this order and look forward to the fruit it will bear," Valentine continued.
While the Department of Justice under the Biden-Harris administration pursued charges against pro-life activists who blocked abortion facility entrances, CatholicVote and several Republican lawmakers feel the same standard was not applied to radical pro-choice activists.
Following the Dobbs decision leak and the subsequent overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 that allowed dozens of states to enact restrictions on abortion access, pro-choice radicals also engaged in a wave of violence against pregnancy centers, including firebombing and vandalism.
According to the Family Research Council's February 2024 Hostility Against Churches report, 436 acts of hostility occurred against churches in 2023, more than double the number identified in 2022. The hostile actions reported include 315 acts of vandalism, 75 arson attacks or attempts, 10 gun-related incidents, 20 bomb threats and 37 other incidents.
